EOS DETROIT Among The Top 3 Award Winners in BuyDetroit Business Competition
Congratulations are in order. The EOS DETROIT team won 3rd place in BuyDetroit’s November “Pitch to the Buyer’’ event at Greektown Casino in Detroit, a “Shark Tank” style competition featuring 256 Detroit-based businesses. EOS DETROIT’s COO Adam Zientarski and Executive Director Jerry Rucker took home the prize for their winning 5-minute pitch and Q&A with a panel of high profile buyers.
With the win, EOS DETROIT became one of three suppliers to receive a cash prize to assist with business expenses, a $5000 scholarship for a program at Tuck University, a billboard in the Metro Detroit area, and a paid membership to one of the state’s certification organizations of their choice.
The BuyDetroit competition began in June 2021, with the announcement of a “Meet the Buyer” competition intended to connect small and mid-sized local businesses with major buyers. Select companies from that event were chosen to move forward with the chance to pitch their businesses.
BuyDetroit is a procurement portal program created by the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC) in cooperation with Detroit Means Business, with funding by TCF Bank and the New Economy Initiative. With a motto of “Connecting Detroit, Business by Business,” BuyDetroit created this opportunity to connect buyers with local quality suppliers. Buyer organizations include Olympia Entertainment, Bedrock, DTE, Henry Ford Health Systems, the City of Detroit, and Comerica Bank.
